"ANYTHING ABOUT RELIGION THAT CAN BE DESTROYED OUGHT TO BE.  YOU CAN NEVER DESTROY TRUTH.  WHEN IT COMES TO RELIGION, ONLY THE TRUTH WILL DO."

~ Dr. Harry M. Taylor
Former Professor of Literature and Preaching
Wesley Theological Seminary
Washington, D.C.

My professor, Harry Taylor, took his faith, his spiritual journey, and his religion seriously . . . but he took himself rather lightly, which is a good balance.

Perhaps that is why he was never far removed from a sly, impish humor that delighted in nothing so much as prophetically deflating those in the church he considered to be rather much over-inflated.

Since Harry died as the new millenium was getting started, I cannot know whether he would have approved of pairing the Monty Python skit you'll find below with the quote above.

But methinks I hear him laughing, even now.  Thanks, Harry.  Peace.
